Christine Tobin presents a program of new arrangements of Leonard Cohen songs taken from her highly acclaimed 2014 album “A Thousand Kisses Deep.” Christine has been a lifelong fan of Cohen, and her unique interpretations make an inspired celebration of the legendary Canadian singer, songwriter and poet. Christine won a prestigious ‘Herald Angel Award’ at the Edinburgh Festival in 2013 for her show of Cohen songs.

“Christine Tobin is inspiring on her own material. But she is in a class of her own singing Leonard Cohen. Her new version of “Everybody Knows” is stunning… Gorgeous, affecting and deeply human.” – The Guardian

Kelley Suttenfield shares a preview of her latest project “The Songs of Neil Young” – jazz-pop interpretations from the catalogue of legendary singer-songwriter Neil Young. A full-length album of this material is in development and slated for release in 2017.

“Suttenfield tackled Neil Young’s Harvest Moon in a way it’s never been sung before, breathy, wistful, at times exquisitely hesitant, thoughtful, dreamy, a lover’s smiling melancholy that balances memory with anticipation. If you don’t get misty-eyed listening to it, then check your pulse.” – Acousticmusic.com

Multi-award winning, singer-songwriter and composer, Christine Tobin is now based in New York, having been an integral part of the London scene for many years. The Irish-born vocalist is renowned for her unique rich voice and original compositional style. She has led various projects, including ‘Sailing to Byzantium’, her settings of WB Yeats poems, for which she won a British Composer Award. The following year she won a ‘Herald Angel Award’ at the Edinburgh Festival for her show ‘A Thousand Kisses Deep”, her imaginative versions of Cohen classics. And in 2014 she won ‘Jazz Vocalist of the Year’ at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Earlier in her career Christine won ‘Best Vocalist’ at the 2008 BBC Jazz Awards. Kelley Suttenfield is an acoustic jazz vocalist whose lush resonance and graceful approach have captivated fans and critics alike. Bruce Crowther (JazzMostly) writes: “A warm, sensual and distinctive vocal sound marks Kelley Suttenfield as someone rather special in the somewhat overcrowded arena in which today’s jazz singers must perform.” Kelley has headlined at notable venues such as The Iridium, and Jazz at Kitano, in New York City, as well as The Pheasantry at Pizza Express in London. In addition, she has performed at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, and St Giles-in-the-Fields, also in London. She embarked on her career by placing as a finalist in the NYC Jazzmobile Vocal Jazz Competition in 2008, and has been performing ever since.
